We can already prove a message from alice@mesg.me is authentic, and if Alice has registered with a trusted Identity Authority and chosen to share her details with us, we can prove alice@mesg.me is Alice Smith of Waterloo Road. We can now sign documents in full confidence, and use a Notary Authority as a third party to witness the keys, identities, and date of document signing.

In the age of AI, it's becoming impossible to prove if a user is human. Services such as Wikipedia could use an Identity Authority to confirm a user is human, and receive a Wikipedia-specific identifier for that user. No personal details such as name or address need to be revealed to Wikipedia, as the protocol only requires interacting with a user's Mesg address. If the user signs up under a new address but the same identity, Wikipedia can link the two accounts. All in aid of combating bots, spam, and AI generated material. Other uses include social media, ticketing, reviews, and ecommerce purchases.
